INTERNAL EVALUATION

The MSc program «Molecular & Applied Physiology» implements a comprehensive and systematic internal evaluation system, which is carried out every semester with the participation of postgraduate students.

This process is part of the continuous assurance and improvement of the quality of the study program.

The EVALUATION (chart) covers all courses and all instructors participating in the MSc program, examining key parameters such as the organization and structure of teaching, the clarity of learning objectives, the quality of teaching materials, and the overall effectiveness of the educational process.

At the same time, the process extends to the entire postgraduate program, reflecting its overall operation and efficiency.

THE RESULTS OF THE EVALUATION (chart) are analyzed and systematically utilized, contributing to the adoption of best practices and the continuous upgrading of the MSc program, in accordance with international academic standards.

EXTERNAL EVALUATION

The MSc program «Molecular & Applied Physiology» is distinguished by its commitment to excellence and the continuous enhancement of the quality of its studies. In this context, in 2014 it underwent EXTERNAL EVALUATION (External Evaluation Report) by the "Hellenic Authority for Higher Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation," the competent national body for quality assurance in higher education.

This evaluation highlighted the high standard of the program, ranking it among the top four postgraduate programs of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. This significant distinction reflects the overall quality of the teaching, the scientific competence of the teaching staff, the modern curriculum structure, and the international competitiveness of the program.

The evaluation committee was composed of distinguished scientists from abroad, with internationally recognized research and academic work, ensuring the objectivity and high level of the process. Specifically, the participants were:

  • Vassilis I. Zannis (Professor, Boston University School of Medicine, USA – Committee President)

  • George Kitas (Professor, Russells Hall Hospital, West Midlands, United Kingdom)

  • Nikolaos Robakis (Professor, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York University, USA)

  • Othon Iliopoulos (Professor, Harvard Medical School & Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, Boston, USA)

The international composition of the committee enhanced the credibility of the evaluation and gave special prestige to its results, confirming that the MSc program meets high international academic standards.

This particular distinction constitutes an important benchmark for the program and strengthens its position as a modern, competitive, and outward-looking postgraduate program, attracting students with high academic and research ambitions.
